A note from our CEO, Steve Skodak
This message is to inform you that we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the Upper Midwest Regional Conference and Trade Show, scheduled to take place October 11-12, 2021 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented situation.
Throughout this pandemic, we have committed to following local and national guidance to keep our conference attendees safe. According to the CDC’s current guidance, several factors can contribute to the likelihood of attendees getting and spreading COVID-19 at large events. One risk factor to consider is the number of cases in the community. As of right now, the state of Minnesota is reporting high community transmission of the more-contagious delta variant. For that reason, we feel postponing this event is in the best interest of our attendees and staff. While we are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event, we know it is the right decision given this information.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
To those already registered for the conference, we will be issuing full refunds to the original form of payment and/or your invoice will be canceled in the coming days. If you have any questions, please take a look at our FAQ page. It will contain the most up-to-date information as we go through this process together. You may also reach out to Gypsy Matlak at firstname.lastname@example.org with refund questions.
If you booked your hotel room through the conference website, please remember to cancel your accommodations online or by calling the hotel directly. There is no fee for hotel room cancellation.
We will be in touch soon with new conference dates for an event held in the Upper Midwest region sometime in 2022.
Thank you for your understanding during these very difficult times. We also would like to thank each and every one of our members, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, supporters, and friends. Together, we will get through this and come out the other side stronger than ever! In the meantime, please stay safe.
